Hi,
I would like to submit this info for inclusion in the EZnet
problems/solutions
area.
AOL RoadRunner dialup service at present is limited to Windows XX
environments only. I have discovered the script that they use for
Windows, and provide a successful set of parameters to utilize
with EZnet program (GPL), which I found worked
quite well considering the script variations necessary (six different
dial-in service variants), when connecting to AOL
RR dialup services under Linux.
EZnet RR dialup parameters:
debug=yes
expect0=ogin:
password=your_password
phone=isp_local_dialin_number
reply0=aolnet/ent.your_user_full_isp_assigned_e-mail_address
service=RR
user=your_user_full_isp_assigned_e-mail_address
Execute 'eznet' for a brief description of how to enter the above
parameters.
That's it. Execute 'eznet up RR' and enjoy! It has connected in all
cases shown in the RR windows dialup script below.
Note: It would have been nice to have a 'CHAP=name' parameter
which would
override the user name (which was initially 'aolnet/ent.your_user_full_isp_assigned_e-mail_address
' ) when sending the name= CHAP reply. I missed your Windows remark the
first
two times I dialed-in ... as usual, the third time (with the above
parameters)
was a charm.
EZnet works great!
Thanks,
Gene
